Martins Lucena designs a concrete coastal house in Brazil

Martins Lucena Architects has reportedly designed IF House in Brazil. The concrete coastal house is spread across 420 sq m with modernist designs and features. A boxes with cantilevers and setbacks supports the house that sits on a sloping site. Its concrete structure is completed with windows to the south, thus capturing breeze from the east. In order to help mitigate solar penetration, wooden shading devices and a cement-tile screen have been added to the exterior. Materials such as wood and hydraulic tole and typical stones from the region have been used. The residence is divided into three levels. The ground floor comprises of the garage and service areas, with public zones and a guest suite. Bedrooms and library are designed on the top floor. The stairs to upper floors are designed with metal profiles.
