Synergy is inherent in the design process at Cluster One. Design for the team at Cluster one is always an exploration that is un-fragmented, seamless and multi dimensional. " To attain it's objective, design must be seamlessly applied over objects and media. It should also be adapted over various scales to make the experience unfragmented. The thoughts embodied in our tag line, 'Products, Built-Environment, Open Spaces', is fundamental to design conception in our studios. Designed by the team of Architect / Industrial Designers, Parag Ainchwar and Parag Sen, this flat was 1040sq.ft. It is a challenge to be truly innovative and practical in a two bedroom area. The team had a vast experience in the field of interior design and space utilization. The Mamidwar's are typical global citizens of today. Umesh is a software engineer and Priyanka is a home maker for now. When this project was completed they had been married for about three years. After a two year stint is London, this house in Pune was their first home here. Young and cosmopolitan in their outlook, with assimilated tastes, their desire was to get a spacious living space with optimum furnishings. Money had to be well spent without over stretching the budget. Evening hour ambiance was crucial, hence lighting played an important part in the spatial quality. Warmth of timber was important as was the white and grays palate. Details were customized for usability. The lighting cove in the ceiling had choice of yellow or coloured light to suit different occasions. Interesting use of wall paper and frosted glass lends some opulence to the surroundings. The Big Ben and London skyline on the bed-sheets and pillow covers is an example of the carefully put together objects and surfaces. Most materials were sourced locally, with some coming from abroad. The project was completed in a span of four months including design and fit out.
