The Herman Miller Design Festival - REACH - aims at connecting the design community. As it hits the road, it will cover cities like Beijing, Manila, Bengaluru and Melbourne. It will host international and regional designers, speakers and insight leaders. Some of the designers presenting at the event include Jack Wang from POSH Design Lab, Studio 7.5, Eames Demetrios from Eames Office and Smita Gupta from Gensler, India. The Festival underscores the brand´s design philosophy.

Hansgrohe Design Prize 2016, held in conjunction with the iF Concept Design Award, was given to five visionary bathroom ideas. Students and young designers from 24 countries participated in the contest and submitted 364 creative ideas for ´Efficient Water Design: Digitalizing the Modern Bathroom´. The winners were from Finland, Sweden, Slovenia, Romania and Germany. EUR 5,000 was prize money. The jury comprised Philippe Grohe and Jan Heisterhagen from Hansgrohe and Andreas Haug, Phoenix Design, Stuttgart.

Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai, has commissioned additional solar power of 410 kWp. The solar panels are spread across five different locations at the T2 and Cargo terminals. Until now, CSIA was generating 650 kWp of solar power. Through additional solar installations the capacity will increase by 410 kWp, taking the total output up to 1060 kWp. The next phase of the solar project will include plant installations of 1700 kWp. The capacity is anticipated to further enhance to 6400 kWp by 2017.

Suzanne Khan´s Charcoal Project has collaborated with Turtle Villas, Goa, to do the interiors of a series of furnished and serviced luxury villas and apartments. The luxurious interiors, high end furniture and furnishings used in the villas are from The Charcoal Project. The villas have been designed by a team of top designers from Singapore, LA, and India. They are created as holiday homes for city dwellers and come with peripheral services and leaseback facility.
