A Stunning Weekend Getaway By Chaitali Parikh Mehta!

Jan 23, 2017

One of our valued professionals on DezignGenie.com, Chaitali Parikh Mehta, Owner of Inscape Designers, has ably produced a one-of-a-kind work of art in the outskirts of Mumbai. Our first impression of her work in Kavardhara (Nashik) was the entrancing serenity amidst natural beauty. We’re sure once you take a look at how incredibly Chaitali has managed to combine countryside with hints of contemporary and comfort, you will want to book a home just to be styled by her! Ready for a tour of this enchanting weekend home?

The mesmerizing, panoramic view of the Darna Lake juxtaposes the natural element throughout the villa. To levitate this landscape, Chaitali has incorporated a few features such as floor-to-ceiling French windows, stonewalls across the project, merging the deck and the lawn, an open to sky shower area, to name a few! A beautiful blend of the exterior environment with the interior habitat, indeed…

Moving indoors (what you’ve most been looking forward to), Chaitali has perceptively used mixed media artwork in every room to give the space its own character!

Wooden ceilings in this home give it a cabin-like feel, further enhanced by the accenting suitcase side tables, niche headboards (space-saving and stylish wonder!), stone frames and basins, and the best catch of all – the coffee/bar trolley table with an implausible view!

Apart from countryside, Chaitali has also brought in a traditional and vintage feel by inducing wooden leftovers of previous properties to fit as strips of different thicknesses and widths on the entrance door. Dramatic with a bit of au naturel, isn’t it?

She has further brought in an ethnic touch to this abode away from the city by using accessories such as traditionally carved lanterns in the dining area, bohemian print showpieces and the archetypical bulb legged seating in various rooms!

While sticking to the roots, Chaitali has kept the style of this weekend getaway alive by introducing these traditional elements in a modern manner. An extraordinary exemplar of this look is seen in the kitchen with old side tables or perhaps even stools have been glued to the middle of the wall to serve as shelves! This style is enriched with old tiles and old-fashioned patterns mixed and placed in a jumbled up manner. End result: We definitely like what we see!
