It’s February!! Every year this time, Mumbai showcases its richness in culture and art – the annual Kala Ghoda Art Festival, 2016 (Feb 6 to Feb 14, 2016)! Wondering why a Home Décor platform is blogging about this fair of music, theatre, food, etc.? Not out of our love for writing, but to make YOU, our design-loving audience, aware of the home interior pocket that this festival fills! In fact, there were events and exhibitions for both professionals and the ones merely interested in artsy home collections!

The Kala Ghoda festival indeed was an art lover’s Visual Treat! The Rampart Row highlighted some of the best thematic art galleries of the event. DG picks the following exhibitions which rocked the event & gave us long term Décor Goals!

  • Pearl Academy – This academy’s stalls filled us with mesmerizing home DIY designs! As a pre-event, they collected household waste items to create stunning showpieces. Maybe these ideas could be your ‘Something Borrowed’ for the New Look of your Home ;) The academy also put up an art installation called “Cosmic Coalesce” displaying some of the best illustrations, paintings, etc. by the students.

  • Musical Chairs by UlluKePathe – Yes, we know, funny name; intriguing work though! Got some free time at home? Make it creative, make it count. Use the Ullus’ design inspirations, and turn those old chairs more fun for your little one!

Now is a section that not all home decorators would be interested in, but is definitely of immense significance to professionals – The Urban Design And Architecture. This comprised of lectures and panel discussions on the physical aspects of our society. Interactions with future architects, city planners, and writers on urban problems & solutions to dig deeper into the challenges of urban living and modes of overcoming them was definitely a win-win event for the truly motivated.
