Ambuja Neotia group organised 2nd edition of Charles Correa memorial lecture

Jul 05, 2017

The architect-fraternity of India and Ambuja Neotia Group got together on a common platform to offer tribute to the legendary architect Charles Correa by organising the 2nd edition “Charles Correa Annual Memorial Lecture” at the Suresh Neotia Center of Excellence for Leadership. The primary objective of this annual lecture is not only to pay homage to his legacy on a specific day but also to encourage research and practice of his values in Architecture throughout the year. The master architect had a natural bond with the Group through a shared philosophy of environment-friendly and sustainable architectural development. He designed City Centre such that the mall became an extension of city streets, people and the overall social microcosm. Charles Correa’s oeuvre and life work were about giving expression to his ideas. All his work were a combination of ideas moulded by both aesthetic and visual sensibility as well as his understanding of the cultural, political, social and economic realities of India. This year the event was graced by Richard Hassell and one of the founders of WOHA, a Singapore-based architecture practice, established in 1994. WOHA has gained global recognition for its integration of environmental and social principles at every stage of the design process.
