Interior Designers & Storytellers Unite To Build Library For Underprivileged Children In Bengaluru

Nov 28, 2016

Three non-profit organizations, Anthill Creations, Mantra 4 Change and The Storytime Project have collaborated to build a library and play area for 800 students at Florida English School in Goripalya, Bengaluru.

Santosh More, Founding Member of Mantra 4 Change, declares having adopted the low-income private school for about two years to give it “an academic boost” and “recommendations” by setting an energetic environment that “could bring beauty into reading”.

For Noel Benno, co-founder of The Storytime Project, highlights the importance of libraries as a step towards a better India as it not only enriches the infrastructure, but also encourages children to read.

Souradeep Paul and his team of volunteers at Anthill Creations have struck the right chord by “building play areas with recycled tyres”.

With 120 recycled tyres and 700 books collected so far, Mr. More hopes to finish this project by January 2017, as the designs for the library’s interior and play area have been locked down and work has already begun.
