Jury For 2017 Awards At World Architecture Festival Announced

The World Architecture Festival in its tenth edition will be held at the Arena Berlin in Germany from 15-17 November 2017. The chair of the  Jury will be Robert Ivy, Chief Executive Officer of the American Institute of Architects. The other include Nathalie de Vries, Director & Co-founder of MVRDV; Ian Ritchie, Founder of Ian Ritchie Architects; and Christoph Ingenhoven, Founder of Ingenhoven Architects. The festival will also feature a thematic conference and an exhibition supported by a series of networking and social events as fringe activities.

Google Submits Design Proposal For New London Office

The new Google office will be designed by BIG and Heatherwick Studio. The ground scraper will be 11-storeys and will combine their 6 Pancras Square to create a campus that will be able to accommodate around 7,000 employees. Based at King Cross, the design is very different as compared to the Mountain View Office. The low building has protrusions and shifting heights as a part of its design. The design has been submitted to the Camden Council, awaiting approval.

The Essential Home device can be connected to every smart device in the home irrespective to the company the device is made by. The device looks like a hockey puck orb with a 5.6-inch circular display. While companies seek to create digital ecosystems of their own for customers, customers prefer a variety of devices put together. A lot of devices in the home make it inaccessible for the consumer who has to interact with multiple devices for multiple functions. Apple hasn’t confirmed the participation of their products with this technology yet.
